After finishing his study Business Administration at the University of Delft, Harry started his career at IBM in 1982 as a programmer. From then on, he has held a series of leadership positions within IBM in both the Netherlands as well as abroad in which he was responsible for large client accounts, service delivery organizations and major industries.
In July 2005, Harry was appointed General Manager of IBM Benelux. Over the next 12 years, he was General Manager for 8 years, Chairman of IBM Europe for 5 years, and all 12 years Country General Manager for IBM Netherlands.
Besides his daily work at IBM, Harry has held (and still holds) many positions in society.
Harry was the Chairman of the Dutch National ICT association, Vice Chair of AMCHAM Europe, and was involved in several board member positons as Dutch Science NWO, VNO-NCW, Diversity Opportunity in Bedrijf, Green IT, and National Cyber Security Council.
Harry currently is the Chairman of Topteam Sport, and holds board member positions at Amsterdam Economic Board, Almere Economic Board, Advisory Board ECP NL, AMCHAM Europe and IMD Lausanne and EFMD Paris.
For all his work at IBM and within society, Harry has received a royal decoration from the King of the Netherlands, becoming Office in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
